Client Background

Golden Spruce Nurseries was established in 2009 as a source for professional landscaping products that are chosen with care, sourced with knowledge and made to last. The name Golden Spruce is a nod to the rare, majestic tree found on the bank of the Yakoun River in Haida Gwaii and signifies the team’s commitment to sourcing distinctive plant materials and helping clients find the right plants for each project.

Project Summary

Our first major project with Golden Spruce Nurseries took place in 2017. At that time, we worked closely with their team to build a new website and email template that allowed them to extend their brand’s online presence. The website served as an additional place they could interact with their customers and rapidly answer questions, while the email template was used to let people know what was going on at the nursery and what was in stock each month.


Fast forward 9 years to 2026, and the team at Golden Spruce Nurseries were ready to modernize their look, expand the functionality of the website, and get more from their email marketing. We were happy to oblige. This second project built upon their established digital presence with a few core requirements:


  • Freshen up the design to be more modern
  • Add more functionality with product integration
  • Create more visual engagement
  • Improve email marketing performance

Solution & Key Outcomes

Golden Spruce Nurseries have been using MAP Web since that first launch in 2017. The platform has made many great updates since then, and the crux of this second project was to make better use of those updates. We implemented dynamic pages and collections to integrate products directly into the site, added more movement and flow for visual engagement, and cleaned up the overall design to create a more modern, fresh feel.


In terms of email marketing performance, we migrated their account to Robly and updated their template to match the new website design. Moving the account to Robly both saves money off the top and provides additional deliverability and optimization tools, which will improve ROI & performance going forward.
